Why do I need to provide my health history?

Many of our tours will require a level of fitness and general health for all participants. As part of the registration process, we ask for some limited healthcare history to better prepare and enable our guides to assist you in the event of an emergency. Where can I find the equipment lists?

If you have reserved an Elk Bay Adventures Equipment tour, you will be sent an equipment list in your welcome email. Please check your junk mail folders if you are missing the email or contact one of the Elk Bay Adventures administration staff using the contact details on this website.

What is the Elk Bay Adventures Indemnity Form?

Every participant is provided with a copy of the Elk Bay Adventures indemnity form when the book their tour. All participants, assiatnts and chaperones are required to sign this disclaimer before taking part in any Elk Bay Adventures activity. The indemnity form can be found for many guiding outfits across Canada and is a standard document. Please read the form carefully before signing and seek independent advice if you are unsure as to the meaning of this document as it may affect your legal rights.

What equipment is provided?

Elk Bay Adventures supply all safety equipment for our tours. What equipment do I need to bring on my adventure tour?

Each Elk Bay Adventures tuor is designed to ensure that all participants are safe and well-prepared. Elk Bay Adventures will supply all activity and safety equipment for your tour unless we notify you beforehand. When you book your adventure tour, you will receive an email confirmation of your booking with several documant attachments. These will include a specific kit list for your tour and any information that you need to ensure you arrive prepared. Travel Hints & Tips

Traveling to Vancouver Island is relatively easy although there are often delays on the major ferry routes in peak season. We advise all clients to aim to be on the Island the day before their tour in case of transport delays. Vancouver Island is well served by BC Ferries, offering ferry routes from Vancouver Horseshoe Bay and Tsawwassen to Nanaimo, and from Vancouver to Victoria. Elk Bay Adventures is happy to partner with international visitors who are visiting Vancouver Island on tour. We offer everything from airport pickup and transport, to equipment hire and a full program of activities to suit your needs. If you are considering bringing a group of people, family, friends, scouts, guides or church groups to Vancouver Island and want to have a fun-filled adventure when you are here, please contact us.

How to make a reservation

Reservations for all our tours can be made online using the reservation button found on each tour page. Once clicked, you will have a selection of tour dates to choose from. The number of participants for each tour is limited for safety and to prevent damage to the areas that we visit. How can I contact someone who is out on a tour?

All Elk Bay Adventures tour guides carry either a GPS two-way communication device or a satellite phone. If you need to contact a tour participant while they are on tour, please contact one of the Elk Bay Adventures administration team using the contact details on this website. Only communications that are urgent or an emergency will be communicated to the guide who will decide what action may be taken.
